About This Course
This course serves as a survey of the typical topics covered in an introductory high-school level Microeconomics and Macroeconomics class. A more detailed list of topics is provided below, but the topics closely resemble those found in the AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics curriculum. This class is usually taught at the late high school level; no prior knowledge is explicitly assumed. Familiarity with basic Algebra is strongly recommended. The instructor of this course will be Alex Chen & Ivan Zhang. Alex Chen is an incoming freshman at the University of California, Berkeley planning to study Economics and Mathematics. He earned 5s in both AP Economics exams and completed coursework in econometrics, game theory/behavioral economics, and money and banking. As president and lead instructor of the National Economics Challenge Club at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, he led multiple teams to finals and championships. Through tutoring and teaching, he hopes to share his passion for economics with others. Ivan Zhang is a rising junior at the University of California, Berkeley in the LSBE Program at the Haas School of Business, double majoring in Business Administration and Molecular & Cell Biology on the pre-med track. He earned 5s in both AP Economics exams and was actively involved in economics competitions and leadership throughout high school. Through tutoring and teaching, he hopes to share his knowledge and interest in economics with younger students.

About Alex
Alex Chen is an incoming freshman at the University of California, Berkeley. As prospective economics and mathematics majors, he received a 5 in both AP Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, and took econometrics, game theory/behavioral economics, and money and banking. He was the president and primary instructor for the National Economics Challenge Club at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, and he led many teams to finals and championships. After being a peer tutor for two AP Economics teachers, he hopes to share his knowledge to others and spark the same passion for economics that he first felt when he started pursuing it.

About Ivan
Ivan Zhang graduated from BASIS Independent Silicon Valley and is a student at University of California, Berkeley double majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology and Business Administration through the Robinson Life Science, Business, and Entrepreneurship (LSBE) program. In high school, he completed Honors Biology and Honors Chemistry while self-studying AP Biology and AP Chemistry. Ivan also led the Biology and Economics clubs and organized a Biology Bowl for middle school students.
